Foot care for children is particularly important. Why? Because, like so many other preventative health measures, early detection and treatment of abnormalities can prevent or minimise future problems. Keep in mind that your child's feet/ankles are undergoing rapid structural development. Treatment at a young age can help assure that development can proceed normally.
If one or both parents and/or grandparents suffer with foot, ankle, knee or low back problems; chances are there's a genetic tendency for your child to inherit the same thing. Therefore, look at the feet and ankles of both parents and grandparents to get a glimpse into your child's genetic predisposition. We offer a screening examination that will disclose any abnormal function that requires treatment. Keep in mind that many adult foot/ankle problems could have been much less problematic. That is, if they were diagnosed and treated during skeletal development.
